Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

Dr. Vega has been in practice since 2012 and founded Forefront Behavioral Health to provide the highest standard of psychiatric care utilizing the most up-to-date interventions, technology and practice for the people of Austin. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated with Honors—Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, TX in and went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX where he received a full scholarship via the Lozano Long Scholarship Foundation. While in medical school, he participated in the Regional Academic Health Science Center program in Harlingen, TX for his third and fourth years of medical school. Dr. Vega then completed his residency in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX in where he served as Assistant Chief Resident during his third year and Chief Resident during his final year of residency.

Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Nkenna is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. Nkenna has obtained additional training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and other women’s mental health issues. She has training and/or work experience in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, and an eating disorder program. When not working, she enjoys writing, reading, running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Nkenna provides psychiatric evaluation, brief psychotherapy, and medication management for ages 17 to 55. Her approach to your care is collaborative and holistic. While she can address the spectrum of psychiatric disorders in all populations, she has specific interest in working with women at all stages of life. Issues addressed include PMS/PMDD, postpartum depression/anxiety, parenting issues, and perimenopause issues. She also enjoys working with young adults, immigrants, and ethnic minorities.

Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Jedidiah Becker is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). He obtained his Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and German from the University of Texas at Austin and then went on to receive his Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. During his graduate studies he completed his psychiatric training in a variety of mental health settings in and around Austin, Texas. Prior to joining FBH, Jedidiah worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychiatric nurse supervisor, charge nurse, and psychiatric nurse for five years. In his spare time, he enjoys training and competing in Muay Thai, yoga, reading, and cooking.


Jedidiah provides psychiatric assessments, diagnostic services, psychoeducation, and medication management to adolescents and adults ages 17 to 65. He utilizes a patient-centered, holistic, evidence-based approach to mental wellness. He is an excellent listener and is committed to providing the highest standard of patient care.
